Mission and Outreach -

"Mission is a sending forth of God's peace and love."

One of the activities of this committee is the "welcoming committee" for new members and friends.

Their calling card is 'PIE'................P = Personal   = Invitation   E = EvangelismHands around the world

Local Outreach: Committee members may take cookies,  pies or other goodies to those who have visited our worship services a few times. It's our way of saying, 'Welcome' and 'Thank you for worshiping with us'.

Special gifts are provided to members and friends for their newborns. A soft blanket, a CD of lullabies and other special items needed for new Moms and Dads, are delivered to their homes.

National Outreach: Throughout the year, members of the committee remind us of the great need around the world and ways we can help alleviate pain and suffering with just a few dollars. The Presbyterian Church (USA) supports many national organizations in that endeavor. We participate in that support as well as contributing to many local organizations. This ministry is funded through the church budget. Special offerings are also taken during the year to meet the goals of this committee.

Ada Before SurgeryInternational Outreach: Our international ministries include assisting VOSH Eye Clinic in Guatemala, which provides eye care and surgery to indigent people there.

With Compassion International, we have adopted a 10 years old young man named Piason from Tanzania. He attends school and church Piasonand helps his Mother in the kitchen. Piason is also responsible for selling things at the market.  He sends us letters from time to time to keep us up-to-date on his studies and what he is doing.

We also support Machikine Girls' School in Kenya, Africa, which provides young women with an elementary through high school education. Our support has also helped them build a school and better housing for the students.

Aleluya Ministries

Our church has a special and supportive interest in the work of Aleluya Ministries in Reynosa , Mexico.

The mission work of Aleluya Ministries is led by Bob and Donna Giffin, who are family-related to long-time members of our church, Dave and Ruth Ann Giffin. Our church feels a special calling in support of this mission work that is conducted in Reynosa, which is just across the USA/Mexican border near McAllen, Texas. A few years ago, a youth group from our church made a short-term visit and worked with Aleluya Ministries. In turn, the Giffins have visited our church several times, sharing and representing their ministry with us.

Ministries within the local church include Wisdom Bible Institute, weekly-held life groups, classes for youth of all ages, discipleship classes, music training, praise and worship team, worship dance team, and weekly evangelistic outreach, that includes open-air evangelism, prison ministry, children’s homes, and homes for the aged.

Our church is blessed to be connected with Aleluya Ministries in Reynosa , Mexico . We invite and encourage everyone to join with us in support of this mission with our prayers and our resources.
